  1. The Last Lecture is such an amazing book. My father passed away from Pancreatic Cancer almost three years ago. It really is a grueling and unforgiving illness. This book really hit home for me. I found myself crying throughout the whole thing! It’s book I’d love to read again though!

    • That must have been devastating for your whole family :( That’s why I’m so impressed with the fact that Pausch took the time to write this book (sort of his legacy for his wife and children, I imagine) I’ve heard that it is a truly inspirational book and can’t wait to read it.

  2. I’ve heard so many profoundly moving things about ‘Cutting for Stone’, and I’m really curious to know what you thought of it! Also, I just had a look at the Yeats you listed, and it sounds gorgeous! It’s been a while since I immersed myself in some exquisite poetry, and with April being declared National Poetry Month in the U.S., it seems like a great time to dive back in. :)

    • I wholeheartedly recommend Cutting for Stone. Yeats…well…this isn’t his poetry but rather a collection of short stories that he’s written based upon years of hearing and collecting the folk/faerie tales of Ireland. I must confess to being a tad disappointed…the tales are pretty disjointed and random…perhaps that’s the point though…as if he were sitting before us and simply telling us his memories as they pop into his head. (Or maybe he had ADD and it was just before it was commonly diagnosed!)
